Houtl-Het, Mummy Noble of Carkade
The Mummy Noble Houtl-het was awakened over a year ago and is only slowly regaining her memories. She has a vague idea of what is expected of her (create an army of the dead) but does not know much beyond that except she will know when she knows.
She doesn’t know who awakened her (it was the Mummy King of Carkade) and has scattered memories of how she became what she is. She has maintained her arrogance and lack of empathy towards others but also feels a deep sense of betrayal at what she has become - she did not anticipate on becoming one of the great undead.
Houtl-het has been sending out skeleton war parties to either chase others out of the area near the ruins or to bring victims back to the ruins for resurrection as undead.
Some victims (humans only) have been subjected to brutal ritual and then their fluids and vital organs consumed in an effort to regenerate their decomposed bodies (temporarily at least), increase their strength and to return to their fully formed power. Only Houtl-het and her honour-guard have been allowed to consume the all important magical sustenance.
A cult has sprung up in worship of the Mysteries of Ammutseba centred on the ruins. The cultists are in awe of Houtl-het and she uses the cultists as her eyes and ears in the immediate surrounds.
The cult has recently clashed with the Hobgoblin Legion and they continue to clash at the edges of their respective domains.
Houtl-het is getting stronger and is trying to contact other Carkadians, while building her army. So far she has been unable to summon or create a being of greater than CR4, but is currently attempting to create a Zombie Beholder.
