- The barony of Wolversmire at the western edge of the kingdom was threatened by the united Stone Giant clans for allowing one of their mortal enemies (Duergar) to cross their territory with a Stone Giant Dreamwalker captive
- The Dreamwalker was both youngest son of the Uber Clan Chief and was in possession of a weapon that could be used to destroy the Stone Giants
- Large swathes of the Radiant Coast were unable to be crossed by the Stone Giants because of an ancient compact with the Elder God Aves Reva, using Carkade minions to carry out.
- The weapon possessed by the Dreamwalker was the Covenant of Impressment - when used compels the Stone Giants to make war on behalf of the rightful possessor of the covenant
